Red Rose Bud & Bird Bath

Posting has been sporadic for me as I've been settling in at a new job. Sort of a bummer for me as I greatly enjoy taking a picture, processing it, and creating Zazzle items. But, it's a fun job, so I don't mind too much.

Spring has been making some appearances around my neighborhood. We've got a Rhododendron bush in full bloom on our property - which seems really strange given it's still winter here in Portland. But, I did take a walk yesterday and saw lots of birds and things in bloom. Today's picture comes from yesterday's walk. It's a single red rose bloom in front of a cement bird bath. I don't like roses, but I loved how the red, green, and browns mixed together in this shot. Lot's of earth tones with some added texture courtesy of Perfect Photo. You can also find matching postage stamps, or postcards if you prefer. Not too mention magnets, puzzles, bags...It's a pretty photo that will print well on anything.
Blank Greeting Card
That's it for today. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Today I'm featuring a few items that showcase my favorite dog, the Blue Heeler. Also commonly known as an Australian Cattle Dog. The dog I've used for this photos is Pearl, she's my mom's dog. Pearl is great to photograph because she's so interested in what I'm doing and she always looks insanely happy. Items with her sweet little face have been super popular and I'm proud to show them here.

Overall, Pearl is a mostly gray female with additional black and white coloring in her fur. She has gray eyelashes too - they look neat! And in the photos where you can see it, her red collar lends the perfect amount of bright color to this photograph taken on a black background. As usual, these items can be customized with text, or change the orientation of a photo if you don't like the direction it's in, and with the Rickshaw line you can change the lining and binding colors. Be sure to check out the whole lineup of Australian Cattle Dog items at my store. There's a treat and a gift for everyone :)

25% Off Cards & Postcards

You can always get a deal at Zazzle :) And right now you can get 25% off greeting cards & postcards with code CARDSINSTYLE. I love that all of the greeting cards I offer at Zazzle are customizable. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love being able to put my own message to a photo that really says and describes what I'm thinking. With over 300 fonts and a wide range of colors, adding your own message is easy and fun.

Old Vintage Radio Blank Greeting Card
I've featured this photo before, it's a favorite. It's an old, beige radio that sits in my dad's garage. It's covered in bird poop and spider webs, but it looks awesome despite being icky! I shot this photo lomo style; dark, vignette corners compliment the rich colors in the photo and it just looks sort of 1970's-ish. A popular seller.

Lomo Style Old Rusty US Mailbox Blank Greeting Card
This shot is another favorite. Again, the photo was taken using a lomo effect and then processed in Photoshop. So, you've got black, vignette corners. The turquoise of the mailbox and the red and purple of the rust are really saturated and rich in color. The tone is vintage meets lonely with a dash of retro :)

Man's Welding Coat & Tools Blank Greeting Card
Father's Day isn't until June, but when you are ready to buy dad a card, you should check out my store. I have a great section called Dad's Garage and it features cards like this one. Here we have my dad's garage again and this time it's his welding coat and tools that I've featured. I shot this photo using a lomo effect and then added some cross process color wherein the reds and greens of this photo are the heaviest colors.
That's it for today! Here's hoping you've had a lovely Valentine's and your week is going great!

Hello Doctor....

I have this crazy cat, Dr. Kitty Phelps Esquire III. That's a mouthful, right? Doesn't matter, he only answers to Kitty. He's a strange cat. But maybe it's me that's stranger... I keep a Facebook account for him, The Good Dr., where we have many running jokes about Kitty's "tonics" and prescription abuse. Oh, we're a laugh a second in my household...

At any rate, I got the chance to shoot a government issued medical kit for fallout shelters and it contains this bottle of Stronger Ether. Not just ether, but the stronger kind. Because a good Dr. always needs the stronger kind. I managed to get Kitty to hold still long enough to get this photo. I'm not entirely pleased with it, but the Dr.'s patients have loved it and asked me to make a shirt. Soooo, I did. I don't care for it because the writing on the jar of ether is a little out of focus, though Kitty is perfect in the shot. I will not argue with what the people want and so here it is....

Persian Cat Tee Shirt
This tee is customizable for men and women, it comes in many different styles and colors, and it's pretty much just awesome. Note: it looks best on black.

So, if you're looking for a Blue Persian, who huffs either, and thinks he's a Dr. - this is your tee.

Let's Talk About Coffee Mugs

I love coffee so much, it's amazing I consume actual food and not just lattes all day. And because of my love for coffee, I have decided today's post will be about coffee mugs. The mugs at Zazzle are dishwasher and microwave safe. The standard coffee mugs come in two sizes, 11oz. and 15oz. Just before Christmas Zazzle introduced a jumbo mug that holds 20oz. (yay me!) and a 6oz espresso mug. My parents have ordered a few of my mugs and they're great. They got two Happy Blue Heeler mugs and the printing on them is great! Here are some examples of the mugs I like:

You can visit my store, mollymortphotography, to buy these mugs and to see more :) Have a great start to your week and thanks for you business! ~mm

25% Off Cases

Today's Zazzle sale is on cases! At my store, mollymortphotography, I have cases for the BlackBerry Bold & Curve, the Samsung Galaxy, & all sorts of Case-Mate & Speck cases for iPads, iPods, & iPhones. Today's examples include a pink bunny rabbit, a jar of flesh colored powder, & some sloths.
Pink Bunny Rabbit
For this photo I took a ceramic pink bunny rabbit and photographed it on a green background that has blue and pink circles stamped into it. I aded some glow and a highlight in processing. With Easter not too far off, this would make a sweet case for an Easter basket :)

Mortician Flesh Face Powder
This is one of the items out of my mortician bag. It's a jar of powder that's flesh colored. It's very similar to stage makeup, it's sort of heavy. It also has an odd smell.
Sloths
I understand where Kristen Bell is coming from. That girl loves sloths possibly more than myself. If you haven't seen her sloth video, you should. It was featured on Ellen and it's funny. Anywhooo, these are two, three toed sloths just hanging about in the jungle. One is a baby and the other is mom. My dad painted this for me and let me use it on stuff. It's one of my most favorite gifts ever :)
Lastly, the code you'll need is LUVACCESSORY. Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend :)

25% Off Tee Shirts

The tee shirts at Zazzle are pretty awesome! You can customize the design of the shirt for men, women, and children! They have a wide range of colors and sizes and today they are 25% off with code WEARURHEARTS

Pink Graffiti Elephant Tee

Dress in style with this tee shirt featuring a photo I took of local Portland graffiti. This photo was taken on Belmont Street, off of the side of a building. I like that the elephant is pink and black on a gray background. I further processed the shot in Photoshop giving it a grunge quality, black texture with some vignetting. It's a solid photo in that it has something of an HDR look to it; it's bright and vibrant - just a fun piece of art.

Japanese Lucky Cat Tee

Have fun wearing this tee shirt featuring a photo I took of a Japanese Lucky Cat, or Maneki Neko. It is also known as Lucky Cat, Cat Swipe, Money cat, or Fortune Cat and is sometimes mistaken as Chinese Lucky Cat. In processing the photo, I saturated the colors and added some glow highlights. I hope you love the colors in this photo as much as I do!

Old Radio Tee

This women's tee was shot using a lomo effect with a vignette, hence it looks uneven on this shirt. But it's really just the effect I was after when I took this photo of an old radio in my dad's barn. I'd say this little vintage baby is from the seventies? 70's? However you spell it, it made rock n roll, baby, rock n roll!

New Items!

I recently re-shot some items. One of which is this antique bottle of liquid rouge. The first shot didn't show the whole bottle and the coloring was wrong. I think I got it pretty right this time.
Antique Mortician Liquid Rouge
This is a bottle of liquid rouge used in a funeral home back in the old days. The bottle is clear and the blush is bright red. I can't imagine putting this on anyone, if you applied to much it would be horrible to try and remove. These days powders and creams are used for blush in the industry. The item you see it on here is an iPad case and there are more styles to choose from.
Antique Mortician Suture Needles & Arterial Tubes
This MacBook sleeve features a photo of suture needles and arterial tubes. The back of the sleeve has a large version of the photo. Totally creepy and awesome at the same time. It's also customizable. You can change the color of the interior and the trim.

That's it for today, thank you again for your business!

Sold!

Pink Graffiti Elephant
I'm super excited that I sold a BlackBerry Curve case! I love this picture and am really excited to know people are going to be seeing it on someone's cell phone!
